I wish I'd listening to the lecture rather than reading it though. The entertainment industry being laid bare is always worth a read, especially when accompanied with interesting writing. Some of the events explored within Misfits are painful. The inner reflection she cultivates is something I admire and her read of others is spot on. Michaela Coel is an interesting person and I'd love to read a full memoir of the same period of her life. That was the original intention and like reading a play, you don't get the full experience from simply reading it. While I think Misfits is well written, it was very much meant to be consumed as a lecture rather than a book. Misfits: A Personal Manifesto by Michaela Coel I prefer the Gameboy version of The Hobbit to the films. They have the space for the b, c, & d plots in books. I would always have said movie in the past but I think tv/streaming shows have a lot to offer us very particular book fans.
